What are travel events?

In general, traveling is a simple system with simple ways of functioning. All that one needs to do to travel is post a topic and use the travel die, once. Depending upon the number you get, you may have a safe travel without needing to worry about NPC attacks or time/WC, you may meet with a friendly NPC who may sell discounted items, even legendary items potentially, you may fight off an attacking NPC, be it beast or man, who may be carrying a legendary items, or you may even receive information about items/jutsu/rituals directly.

1. Safe Travel

The first possible event is a simple safe travel, where you reach the destination with no NPC interruptions. The RPer, with this travel option, can either meet up with people in the travel topic or simply reach the destination with no problem.

2. Friendly Encounter

The second event is much different. While traveling, you meet a friendly person. Whether they have items for sale (possibly on discount), information about special missions, or if they want to hire you as protection is up to the NPCer modding the topic.

3. NPC Attack

The third event is similar to the second, except this NPC does not have to be human, and is most certainly hostile. Whether this NPC Attacker is an animal looking for food, a bounty hunter, some bandits, or an enemy ninja is up to the NPCer modding the topic.

4. Missions

The final option is the option involving Missions. These events can range from learning information on how to start a mission, becoming part of a mission, interrupting another RPer’s mission in the same general area, or learning potential rewards for missions.

Travel Event Rules

1. For Safe Travel, Friendly Encounter, and Mission, one may always simply leave the topic to instantly complete the traveling. While this may seem like a good idea many times, you never know what possible rewards await for a Mission, nor what items a Friendly Encounter may give.

2. NPC Mods are made to be active, so if within 12 hours a reply to your post is not posted, you may skip the post and leave. This does not include topics where one is actively doing a mission.

3.If you are defeated by the NPC Attacker, you will not die, you may, depending upon the fight itself, be impaired in other ways, such as being robbed, wounded, or something of that nature. You will not, however, lose any legendary items in this case.

4.To NPCers, the goal is to make travel less boring and still regulate it. You must understand the character you are playing is meant to be killed, defeated, or otherwise avoided. DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY. Holding a grudge based on an NPC fight may cause termination from staff and/or demotion.

5.Legendary items are made to be rare, do not expect them to magically drop every single travel topic. Rewards always exist, but not all are as valuable. Do not be discouraged if you gain only small rewards for a mission, or attack. Everything is decided by chance.

6.If a group travels together, the missions and NPC attackers get mildly harder, enough to challenge everyone, but not enough to make it harder than traveling alone. Going with a group is always safer.

7.To both RPers and NPC Mods, understand that the purpose of this system is tri-fold. First, we want an organic way to make travel less boring while regulating it still. Second, we want to encourage and challenge our members to become better rpers and fighters. Third, we want to make sure every legendary item is earned.

8.Keep in mind, Legendary Item events are rare, but they are also much more difficult than the average travel event. The Missions will require intellect. The NPC Attackers will require battle skill. The Friendly Encounter, however, will require social rp skills, being able to talk the Friendly NPC into handing over/selling the item.
