Proficiency Point System

Proficiency Points, also referred to as "PP" are equivalent to skill points that many other forums use. Here, we define proficiency points in a broader spectrum which encompasses both elements and skills to a higher degree than just 5 ranks(D-S). With PP, is is possible to obtain an absurd amount of PP in any one given area, granted your other areas would be lower. PP directly correlates to the experience/level system, so when you get exp and level up, you obtain more PP.

  • 1PP is equal to 1 skill point. As such, 1PP would be D Rank skill while 5PP would be S Rank skill. Please note that we do not stop at S Rank, which means you can create/use jutsu up to X Rank. X Rank jutsu however would be like Limited techniques: as such, you will need at least 8PP in one subcategory of a skill to use X Rank jutsu.

  • PP increases overall power of jutsu. 1PP is 1% in a subcategory. So if you had 10PP in Pure Ninjutsu, your Non-Elemental Ninjutsu would have a boost of +10% to its power. Please notice that PP can only be spent in subcategories, not whole categories. As such, PP goes in specific areas and now all skills in general. So if you did Bukijutsu with the subcategory of Kenjutsu, your kenjutsu would get the %boost but not the other Bukijutsu skills like Kyujutsu. The same is said for Elemental Ninjutsu & the different elements.

  • Putting PP in the Elemental Ninjutsu only gives you  %boost to the elements you have put PP in. So if you put 10PP in Katon(Fire) and 4PP in Suiton(Water) you will have two separate elemental boosts for Fire and Water. Please note that PP Boosts do not stack with other elements. So if you have 10PP in Futon(Wind) and 6PP in Katon(Fire) using a Wind+Fire combination will not give a 16% boost. Rather, the %boost chooses the highest %boost you possess of the two elements used.

  • There is no limit to how high a PP boost can stack in any given subcategory skill. There are however minimum requirements, the more advance skills and elements will require higher amounts of PP though. So choose where you spend PP wisely.

Ninjutsu: (忍術, Literally meaning: Ninja Techniques) are one of the fundamental skills of a shinobi. Ninjutsu is comes in many forms but all forms derive from the same origin. The Sage of the Six Paths originally created Ninshu- the art of understanding and peace. Humanity weaponized this Ninshu and created Ninjutsu. With Ninjutsu, there are two methods. Shape transformation and nature transformation. Shape transformation deals with controlling form and movement of the ninjutsu, while nature transformation deals with changing the physical properties of the ninjutus. Both can be used together or separately.

  • Pure Ninjutsu: This form of Ninjutsu deals with the manifestation of ninjutsu without the use of elements. Any and all Ninjutsu that does not use elemental manipulation s considered Pure Ninjutsu.

  • Barrier Ninjutsu: This form of Ninjutsu deals with the manifestation of ninjutsu through erecting walls or prisons out or chakra. The use of such ninjutsu is wide and praiseworthy. Barriers can be incorporated in many ways, such as summons, weapons and tags.

  • Space-Time Ninjutsu: (Jikukan) This form of Ninjutsu deals with the manipulation of the space-time continuum on a basic scale. By manipulating a specific point of space, the user can warp targeted objects into another dimension or location instantaneously. All summoning techniques are performed through the use of Space-Time Ninjutsu as they warp targets through the dimensional void to the user's location. Space-Time Ninjutsu are also able of bypassing Barrier Ninjutsu, as barriers only affect the dimension they are placed within.

Elemental: Elemental is a category that influences all other subcategories on a nature transformation level. Elemental can be used with any other Categories skills, but only with the appropriate elements and skills the user possesses. If you have only C Rank Fire Element, you cannot use S Rank Fire Ninjutsu. Basic elements, the base five- Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning & Earth have no minimum PP to use. All that is needed is 1PP to use D Rank elemental skills. Advanced elements however require a minimum of 3 in each basic element, including the natural forms of Yin & Yang. So if you desire Steel Release, you will need 3PP in both Earth & Yang elements. Once the minimum is met, you may start putting PP into the advanced element: however, your advanced element may not surpass your base element's PP unless all base elements involved have a minimum of 8PP.
Kekkai Tota(KKT) are different however. As being an even more advanced form of nature transformation, the requirements are similar but heavier. To use a KKT such as Dust requires 3 base elements, Fire, Wind and Earth. Each base element must have 5PP in each element before you may start putting PP in the KKT element. The same applies here as well, your KKT element's PP may not surpass your base elements unless your base elements all have 8PP in them.
Spoiler:

Medical Ninjutsu: is a branch of ninjutsu associated with healing, as well as the manipulation of their own, or another's body, practised by shinobi categorised as "medical-nin". The use of medical ninjutsu requires very advanced chakra control, as well as extensive knowledge on such things as herbs, medicines, the human body and even poisons.

  • Healing: Is Rather Simple, This is the Path needed for performing autopsies or surgeries, or even using The Creation Rebirth technique which is considered to be the absolute pinnacle of all medical ninjutsu, and the ultimate regeneration technique.

  • Poison: The knowledge of medical ninjutsu can be used for a variety of purposes apart from simply healing, such as creating and treating poisons as seen with Shizune who uses her extensive medical knowledge to create a poisonous gas

  • Medical Taijutsu: Medical Ninjutsu in itself can also be used offensively, witnessed in Kabuto Yakushi's use of chakra scalpels in battle, overriding his opponents body with medical chakra and Tsunade has also demonstrated the ability to use medical ninjutsu offensively as shown when she attempted to use medical ninjutsu to kill Orochimaru. Also attacking a person's body directly, deranging the target's nervous system or sending them into a comatose state by overriding their body with chakra. Tsunade, renowned as the greatest medical-nin in the world, was able to apply the extreme chakra control required for medical ninjutsu to create chakra-enhanced strength, an ability she taught to her student, Sakura Haruno.

Fuinjutsu: are a type of jutsu that seal objects, living beings, chakra, along with a wide variety of other things within another object. Fūinjutsu can also be used to restrict movement or unseal objects either from within something or someone.

  • Sealing: This is the Branch of Fuinjutsu that deals with Sealing , Example of being able to Seal Bijuu inside of people to create Jinchurikki, or Weapons inside of Scrolls for later use in combat.

  • Juinjutsu: Curse Seals, are a type of techniques used to bring someone under the control of the user. By applying a seal to the victim's body, the user brings the victim's abilities and actions under his/her control. With a simple secret hand seal, the user can inflict great mental and physical torment on the victim. The exact workings of juinjutsu are kept secret.

  • Barrier Seals: Like the Barrier Ninjutsu, except Seals are used in place of yourself for certain techniques allowing you to protect an ally while fighting from outside the Barrier.

Taijutsu: is a basic form of techniques and refers to any techniques involving the martial arts or the optimisation of natural human abilities. Taijutsu is executed by directly accessing the user's physical and mental energies, relying on the stamina and strength gained through training. It typically does not require chakra, though chakra may be used to enhance its techniques. Taijutsu generally requires no hand seals to perform, occasionally making use of certain stances or poses, and are far quicker to use than ninjutsu or genjutsu. Taijutsu is simply put: hand-to-hand combat.

  • Jyuken(Gentle Fist): is a form of hand-to-hand combat used by members of the Hyūga clan. It inflicts internal damage through attacking the body's Chakra Pathway System, subsequently injuring organs which are closely intertwined with the area of the network which has been struck. To do this, the user surgically injects a certain amount of their own chakra into the opponent's chakra pathway system, causing damage to surrounding organs due to their proximity to the chakra circulatory system. Even the slightest tap can cause severe internal damage, hence the name "gentle" fist.

Neji Hyūga noted that any chakra-based substance can be destroyed by this technique. As seen in his fight with Kidōmaru, it is done by leaking chakra from the chakra openings in one's hands and moulding it into a needle-like shape to slice through the chakra. In contrast, Kidōmaru managed to devise a method that prevented the chakra from being injected into the body, thus negating the main impact of the Gentle Fist through physical contact.

  • Goken(Strong Fist): is Guy's and Lee's characteristic fighting style, the purpose of which is to cause external damage and break bones. It is the exact opposite of Gentle Fist which is used mainly by the Hyūga Clan. This style of fighting involves smashing your opponent and is generally used only by extremely physically powerful and dominating shinobi.

  • Suiken(Drunken Fist): is a unique style of combat where, according to Might Guy, "the more you drink, the drunker you get, and the stronger you become". It can not be learned, taught, nor refined through training and practice. Drunken Fist fighters are not simply drunk: they become human powerhouses who'll strike unpredictably with an explosive fury and without any second thoughts about their actions. Once drunk, the user will lose their ability to know friend from foe and attack whomever is in their vicinity. The user's ability to dodge enemy attacks is also seemingly enhanced.

The Drunken Fist is not a reliable option because the 'drunken frenzy' that alcohol induces does not hold for prolonged periods of time; Lee is easily awakened from Drunken Fist with a simple scratch from anything which draws blood, sobering him up almost immediately. If he has not overcome his adversary by that time, Lee may be left at their mercy, as shown in his fight against Kimimaro. Lee also seems to have no memory of what happened while he was drunk.

  • Muonoken(Silent Fist): is a fighting style that was unique to Shira. With it he is able to render his movements completely silent by cloaking himself in chakra. Neji Hyūga likens its usage to the feathers of an owl, as the chakra cloak makes Shira's movements virtually unpredictable.

Bukijutsu: All ninja use a weapon at some time or another during their careers, but not all do so regularly.

Weapons can be just as useful on the battlefield as any other jutsu in a ninja's arsenal, either due to the weapon's design, its special abilities, or the unique way in which a ninja combines it with his or her other skills; ninja frequently coat their weapons with their chakra to alter the weapon's properties, a process called chakra flow. Over time, a particular weapon or set of weapons may gain its own fame for one reason or another, as with the Treasured Tools of the Sage of Six Paths. Weapons of all types, whether common or rare, are frequently sealed within scrolls or some other flat surface for ease of transport and accessibility in combat. The anime calls the sealing and unsealing of weapons the Enclosing Technique and the Unsealing Technique, respectively.

To be able to create new and powerful weapons makes one prized to one's village, allies, or customers; in the anime, the Takumi Village was once the world's top provider of ninja weaponry.

  • Shurikenjutsu: To use a shuriken or a kunai, usually as projectile weaponry, is called "shurikenjutsu" (手裏剣術, Literally meaning: sword hidden in the hand techniques). All ninja are taught some amount of shurikenjutsu from a young age, with members of the Uchiha clan being noted specialists. Even those who without any special propensity for shurikenjutsu keep a supply of shuriken and kunai with them for every mission.

  • Boujutsu: The use of a staff or bō in close-range combat is called "bōjutsu" (棒術, Literally meaning: Staff Techniques). Members of the Akimichi clan are often seen using a bō in battle. The Third Hokage's personal summon, Enma, can transform the into a large staff, which the Third wields with great skill.

  • Kenjutsu: Wielding a sword is called "kenjutsu" (剣術, Literally meaning: Sword Technique). It is one of the more common weapons used in Naruto, being especially popular amongst ninja of Kumogakure and Kirigakure; the latter is even famous for its Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.

  • Tessenjutsu: The use of a war fan, whether as a blunt weapon or as a type of shield, is similar to the real world "tessenjutsu" (鉄扇術, Literally meaning: Iron-fan Technique). Ninja of Sunagakure, such as Temari, more often use war fans to facilitate their long-range wind-based ninjutsu.

  • Kugujutsu: To use a puppet in combat for any variety of reasons requires the Puppet Technique, an ability without any real world equivalent. Although ninja from several different villages have been seen manipulating puppets, it is most popular with ninja of Sunagakure.

  • Kusarigamajutsu: The use of a kusarigama is called "kusarigamajutsu" (鎖鎌術, Literally meaning: Chain Sickle Technique). Only Hanzō has been shown using a kusarigama with any amount of regularity, though Hidan's Triple-Bladed Scythe is wielded in a manner similar to kusarigama.

  • Kyujutsu: To use a bow and arrow as a long-range weapon is called "kyūjutsu" (弓術, Literally meaning: Bow Technique). Bow and arrows are used very rarely in Naruto, and when they are they are typically some sort of chakra-based substance that is formed during combat rather than carried into it; examples include Sasuke Uchiha's Susanoo and Kidōmaru's Spider War Bow: Terrible Split.

  • Kayakujutsu: The use of explosive tags, whether as traps or as ways to make projectiles deadlier, is similar to the real world "kayakujutsu" (火薬術, Literally meaning: Gunpowder Techniques). Hanzō's fighting style makes a heavier use of explosive tags than most ninja, combining them with his Fire Release to create crippling techniques.

  • Kikaijutsu: Kikaijutsu is a secret form of Bukijutsu where it relies more so on the object's abilities rather than any individual skill. Literally translating to  "Machine art" Kikajutsu skill focuses on hardware, the technology and geared machines in the narutoverse. Things ranging from simple mechanics like a forearm crossbow with a bolt speed loader, to computers, communications gear and chakra weapons/machines. To learn Kikaijutsu, one much be raised and be a follower of the "Saint" in her own land.

Genjutsu: Genjutsu is one of the main jutsu categories which uses chakra. Unlike ninjutsu, the effects of genjutsu are not real, being only illusions experienced by those who fall victim to it. According to the Second Mizukage, genjutsu falls under the broad category of Yin Release.

  • Sense 1: Touch : Touch Based Genjutsu has the ability that when you touch someone you can make them feel as if they have the creepy crawlies or even make their skin feel like they are on fire, Your Touch effects what they feel.

  • Sense 2: Sound : Sound base can be a basic blast of noise to a musical tune, that one listened to for two long can send one into a trance like state, almost as if they would be dreaming.

  • Sense 3: Taste : This can be simply a kiss you bestow, or a candy you hand out, the taste of things even on the air , even for those who can "Taste" your Fear, can be trapped in your genjutsu by such things.

  • Sense 4: Sight : Most Genjutsu is performed visually, requiring the target make eye contact with the caster. This is the main style of Genjutsu imployed by the Uchiha Clan with their Sharingan, having some of the most powerful Genjutsu known to the world.

  • Sense 5: Smell : a Gentle breeze carrying the smell of Honey sickle, Fresh Baked cookies on a window sill, all of these are potential smells that could ensnare one into a genjutsu.

  • Elemental: Other methods include integration with nature transformation, as shown with Water and Lightning Release. Such as an Endless supply of Water Clones or a Blinding Flash of light.

Senjutsu: is a specialised field of techniques that allows the user to sense and then gather natural energy. Senjutsu practitioners learn to draw the energy of nature inside of them, blending it with their own chakra. This adds a new dimension of power to the practitioner's chakra, resulting in the creation of "senjutsu chakra" (仙術チャクラ, senjutsu chakura)

  • Sage Pure Ninjutsu: Same as Pure Ninjutsu with the exception of being more potent due to the nature of Senjutsu Chakra

  • Sage Elemental: Similar to that of Elemental Ninjutsu, with the Exception of being more Potent due to the Nature of Senjutsu Chakra, as seen by Jiraya who took a C-rank Technique and with the use of Toad Oil, a Wind Tech, and Senjutsu Chakra, Made the Power of the Tech on par with S-rank techniques if not higher.

  • Sage Medical Ninjutsu: No Known form of this has been used, but one must assume it would be on par with that of Hashirama's natural Regeneration or Tsunade's Strength of a Hundred Technique.

  • Sage Fuinjutsu: Has been seen to be Powerful enough to hold the likes of the Ten Tailed Beast and even the Ten Tailed Jinjurikki.

  • Sage Taijutsu: Has been seen to give potential range as well as power, as we seen with Naruto using the Frog Kata against one of the Pains.

  • Sage Bukijutsu: Has Yet to be seen but one could assume it would be similar to that of Sage Taijutsu.

  • Sage Genjutsu: This Branch has to be one of the most fearsome of them all, As Seen with Fukasaku and Shima, Even if faced with one hundred enemies these techniques can hit them all at once and hold them until the user gives the command, or a extremely Powerful Kai for example.
